The "Drive to Work" initative is an offer by MBC to employers to employ an eligible MBC jobseeker and have the opportunity of gaining financial assistance through the MBC Wage Assistance Program.

WAGE ASSISTANCE

What is Wage Assistance

Wage Assistance provides an incentive to employers to provide ongoing employment to eligible MBC Employment Services Job Seekers.

Wage Assistance pays a salary subsidy to eligible employers of up to $4400.00 (including GST) over 15 weeks for eligible work, payable at the end of this employment milestone.

The job seeker, the employer and the job must all be eligible for wage subsidy payments.

An eligible employer is in the private, public or community sector and must be offering:

·Ongoing employment, that is barring unforseen circumstances, the job will continue for 15 weeks
·Wages under the appropriate Award, collective bargaining agreement or Australian Workplace Agreement

An eligible job is:

Fulltime work as defined under the applicable Award or agreement. MBC Management may also approve the subsidy for part time employment of over 20 hours per week.

Contact your local MBC office to ask about the program. We will send you information and an application form. We are able to organise for you to meet suitable MBC eligible jobseekers.
